PLACE identity Series
LOT 7
Land Acknowledgement @ Time of Custodian
‘In the spirit of reconciliation the PLACE identity Series acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. I pay my respect to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.’
Place Statement @ Time of Conception
Is a contemporary visual approach to digitally photographing and montaging the landscape to express the psychological space within a designated place of identity. I continually aim to acknowledge and understand the land we are upon and my personal response of the stimuli that surrounds me with each step taken.
Personal Narrative @ Time of Capture
The process of duality…
The web, the plan and the balance of discovery to understanding the duality of the paradox, aiming to learn the various emotions, duality of decisions and how to rescue the self through situational location.
Having two thoughts this way or that; the fork in the road, the spark ignites the fire which burns out the decay, the wind escalates the desire to renew the path, the rain cleanses the dust and the flood washes it all away.
Visual Information @ Time of Creation
The contemporary artwork is a layered narrative reflecting an aspect of Rockhampton’s history. Rockhampton is situated just north of the Tropic of Capricorn in Central Queensland, Australia. On Sunday morning 4th October 2014 I wandered through Quay Lane, Derby Street and the banks of the Fitzroy River continually photographing my response to the paths I walked as an adolescent. In August 2015 post production commenced and one digital montage became Lot 7 in the PLACE identity Series, experiencing past emotion to a time gone by.
Found Quote @ Time of Completion
Oprah Winfrey once said, “Lots of people want to ride with you in the limo, but what you want is someone who will take the bus with you when the limo breaks down.”
