PLACE identity Series
LOT 6

Land Acknowledgement @ Time of Custodian

‘In the spirit of reconciliation the PLACE identity Series acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. I pay my respect to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.’

Place Statement @ Time of Conception

Is a contemporary visual approach to digitally photographing and montaging the landscape to express the psychological space within a designated place of identity. I continually aim to acknowledge and understand the land we are upon and my personal response of the stimuli that surrounds me with each step taken.

Personal Narrative @ Time of Capture

Situational placement…

Unrest approaches the over dramatic mind which controls the conscious thought.

Up, up and away and ‘Island Blue’ is seen in the contained vessel that has views of patterns. On arrival to ‘Beach Boarder’ the never seen forgotten territory, a passenger, now understanding the ambience of the ocean sound as it arrives in contained quarters. The tree, ‘Saint Awesome’ giving peace, a breath of beauty to reform the past patterns, the pain, the torture dissipates.

Visual Information @ Time of Creation

The contemporary artwork is a layered narrative reflecting Mackay, Seaforth and Ball Bay natural and urban environment. Mackay, Seaforth and Ball Bay are situated on the Eastern Coast, Queensland, Australia. Continually photographing my response on Friday afternoon 17th October 2014 on a QANTAS flight entering Mackay and then on Saturday afternoon 18th October 2014 at Seaforth and Ball Bay in great amazement of new visuals I was receiving. In March 2015 post production commenced and three digital montages became Lot 6 in the PLACE identity Series, exploring parts of a region new to me.
