PLACE identity Series
LOT 39

Land Acknowledgement @ Time of Custodian

‘In the spirit of reconciliation the PLACE identity Series acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. I pay my respect to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.’

Place Statement @ Time of Conception

Is a contemporary visual approach to digitally photographing and montaging the landscape to express the psychological space within a designated place of identity. I continually aim to acknowledge and understand the land we are upon and my personal response of the stimuli that surrounds me with each step taken.

Personal Narrative @ Time of Capture

Early start it was, getting to Coolangatta airport from Red Hill, Brisbane…

Arrival to Melbourne airport was the same as it has always been for me. Movement all around as souls find their way to their next destination, including myself. The taxi went fast and location was found. Melbourne town; your weather full of grey, with a touch of colour in between. Still able to identify something new to interest my visuals.

Visual Information @ Time of Creation

The contemporary artwork is a layered narrative reflecting Melbourne Airport and Melbourne natural and urban environment. Melbourne Airport and Melbourne are situated on the Eastern Coast, Victoria, Australia. Continually photographing my response on Saturday 1st June 2019 I was continually photographing my response to the beauty that surrounded me. In February 2022 post production commenced and two digital montages became Lot 39 in the PLACE identity Series, moving fast with limited time to capture.

Quote @ Time of Completion

Noam Chomsky once said, “The general population doesn’t know what’s happening, and it doesn’t even know that it doesn’t know.”
