‘In the spirit of reconciliation the PLACE identity Series acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. I pay my respect to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.’

Is a contemporary visual approach to digitally photographing and montaging the landscape to express the psychological space within a designated place of identity. I continually aim to acknowledge and understand the land we are upon and my personal response of the stimuli that surrounds me with each step taken.

Back again via road … 

Weird but good. Mad but safe. Lost yet found.

Already in familiar territory, the opportunity came again to enter Mackay by road from the south end. A motel room I adorned, and the rectangle space provided a temporary haven to breathe under the circumstances I arrived in.

The contemporary artwork is a layered narrative reflecting Mackay natural and urban environment. Mackay is situated on the Eastern Coast, Queensland, Australia. On Monday 20^th May 2019 I was continually photographing my response to beauty that surrounded me. In February 2022 post production commenced and two digital montages became Lot 38 in the PLACE identity Series, freeing self of daily rituals.
