PLACE identity Series
LOT 37

Land Acknowledgement @ Time of Custodian

‘In the spirit of reconciliation the PLACE identity Series acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. I pay my respect to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.’

Place Statement @ Time of Conception

Is a contemporary visual approach to digitally photographing and montaging the landscape to express the psychological space within a designated place of identity. I continually aim to acknowledge and understand the land we are upon and my personal response of the stimuli that surrounds me with each step taken.

Personal Narrative @ Time of Capture

A quick drive from Brisbane to see another creative artist share their soul of artwork on a wall I hadn’t met. Then I took a quick drive to the end of Hasting’s Street. It is always good to have a look around and see if there have been changes or not.

Visual Information @ Time of Creation

The contemporary artwork is a layered narrative reflecting Noosa Heads natural and manmade environment. Noosa Heads is situated in the shire of Noosa, Queensland, Australia. On Monday 8th April 2019 I was continually photographing my response to beauty that surrounded me. In March 2021 post production commenced and two digital montages became Lot 37 in the ‘PLACE identity’ series, enjoying a quick moment before a trip home.

Quote @ Time of Completion

Jodi Picoult once said, “Extraordinary things are always hiding in places people never think to look.”
