PLACE identity Series
LOT 36
Land Acknowledgement @ Time of Custodian
‘In the spirit of reconciliation the PLACE identity Series acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. I pay my respect to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.’
Place Statement @ Time of Conception
Is a contemporary visual approach to digitally photographing and montaging the landscape to express the psychological space within a designated place of identity. I continually aim to acknowledge and understand the land we are upon and my personal response of the stimuli that surrounds me with each step taken.
Personal Narrative @ Time of Capture
A path explored with trepidation, yet a feeling of stoic strength. How can it be as the tree tune plays in the background?
Visual Information @ Time of Creation
The contemporary artwork is a layered narrative reflecting Mt Connell Park natural and manmade environment. Mt Connell Park is part of the Gayndah Shire Council, Queensland, Australia. On Sunday 20th January 2019 I was continually photographing my response to beauty that surrounded me. In December 2020 post production commenced and two digital montages became Lot 36 in the PLACE identity Series, thinking of the present knowing that is only a moment.
Quote @ Time of Completion
Charles Dickens once said, “Have a heart that never hardens, a temper that never tires, a touch that never hurts.”
