PLACE identity Series
LOT 27
Land Acknowledgement @ Time of Custodian
‘In the spirit of reconciliation the PLACE identity Series acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. I pay my respect to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.’
Place Statement @ Time of Conception
Is a contemporary visual approach to digitally photographing and montaging the landscape to express the psychological space within a designated place of identity. I continually aim to acknowledge and understand the land we are upon and my personal response of the stimuli that surrounds me with each step taken.
Personal Narrative @ Time of Capture
The tranquillity of a moment…
The simplicity of all my sensors responding to my surroundings was magnificent. I am a child at heart forever discovering the magic of the shoreline. Each rock I found had its own language and the Pelican’s wore hearts which was an extraordinary fashion parade.
Visual Information @ Time of Creation
The contemporary artwork is a layered narrative reflecting Mallacoota’s natural environment. Mallacoota is a small town situated in the East Gippsland Region, Victoria Australia. On 10th February 2018 I had the opportunity to visit this quaint town, continually photographing my response to nature’s language. In March 2019 post production commenced and one digital montage became Lot 27 in the PLACE identity Series, in peace with the ocean.
Found Quote @ Time of Completion
A snippet from Edgar Allan Poe poem ‘Alone’, from childhood’s hour I have not been as others were. I have not seen as others saw.
