PLACE identity Series
LOT 26
Land Acknowledgement @ Time of Custodian
‘In the spirit of reconciliation the PLACE identity Series acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. I pay my respect to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.’
Place Statement @ Time of Conception
Is a contemporary visual approach to digitally photographing and montaging the landscape to express the psychological space within a designated place of identity. I continually aim to acknowledge and understand the land we are upon and my personal response of the stimuli that surrounds me with each step taken.
Personal Narrative @ Time of Capture
Breathe; stay came. Breathe…
A moment to pause; reflect a time that once was and practice the birth mantra of courage and find strength within to leave my old shadow and have freedom to express my true heart without fear in my new shadow that flows with me.
Pattern Going – retracing old tune; tide is out, my shadow sinking in quicksand. Eager to changing old patterns; release a new tune. Unveil Heart – how many times has the curtain been raised? The boards are calling for a new chapter. Stand Tall – time to trace out a new path. Be authentic to me; have courage to begin the new tune.
Visual Information @ Time of Creation
The contemporary artwork is a layered narrative reflecting Woorim Beach natural environment. Woorim Beach is situated in Woorim, the eastern end of Bribie Island in the Moreton Bay Region, Queensland, Australia. On 26th January 2018 I had the opportunity to spend the day reflecting at the ocean, continually photographing my response to nature’s language. In June 2018 post production commenced and three digital montages became Lot 26 in the PLACE identity Series, motivated to find new peace within.
