PLACE identity Series
LOT 22
Land Acknowledgement @ Time of Custodian
‘In the spirit of reconciliation the PLACE identity Series acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. I pay my respect to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.’
Place Statement @ Time of Conception
Is a contemporary visual approach to digitally photographing and montaging the landscape to express the psychological space within a designated place of identity. I continually aim to acknowledge and understand the land we are upon and my personal response of the stimuli that surrounds me with each step taken.
Personal Narrative @ Time of Capture
Got wrecked at some point…
The temptation not to become wrecked at this point! My history book I created to date has been full of twist and turns. It’s now time to dig deep and move forward through the barrier and transform into love and harmony for myself.
Visual Information @ Time of Creation
The contemporary artwork is a layered narrative reflecting Cooee Bay, Yeppoon, exploring the natural and manmade environment in the late morning as tour of the coast line unravelled. Cooee Bay is situated in the Central Coast Region, Queensland Australia. On 30th December 2016 I had the opportunity to visit and roam the cliff, wander through the wild grass that adorned the land and watch the ocean hit the rocks continually photographing my response to nature and manmade language. In January 2018 post production commenced and two digital montages became Lot 22 in the PLACE identity Series, reflecting to a period that had a particular style of adventure and growth.
