PLACE identity Series
LOT 2

Land Acknowledgement @ Time of Custodian

‘In the spirit of reconciliation the PLACE identity Series acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. I pay my respect to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.’

Place Statement @ Time of Conception

Is a contemporary visual approach to digitally photographing and montaging the landscape to express the psychological space within a designated place of identity. I continually aim to acknowledge and understand the land we are upon and my personal response of the stimuli that surrounds me with each step taken.

Personal Narrative @ Time of Capture

The flow of life travels through our systems…

Inquiring into a place (space) the force of nature provides and supplies information and materials to understanding our self. The internal rumble fluctuating between delight and sorrow as all sensory activates on the stimulation of the arrival. Within minutes confusion attends the equation and the internal dance begins.

Visual Information @ Time of Creation

The contemporary artwork is a layered narrative reflecting Coolum Beach natural environment. Coolum Beach is situated in the Sunshine Coast, South East Queensland, Australia. On the 19th February 2014 on a Wednesday afternoon I was continually photographing my response to the seagulls, ocean and sky. In November 2014 post production commenced and two digital montages became Lot 2 in the PLACE identity Series, observing the light change around me.
