PLACE identity Series
LOT 16
Land Acknowledgement @ Time of Custodian
‘In the spirit of reconciliation the PLACE identity Series acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. I pay my respect to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.’
Place Statement @ Time of Conception
Is a contemporary visual approach to digitally photographing and montaging the landscape to express the psychological space within a designated place of identity. I continually aim to acknowledge and understand the land we are upon and my personal response of the stimuli that surrounds me with each step taken.
Personal Narrative @ Time of Capture
Unfastening the shackles…
Rediscovering the ambience of colour within the language of water as it flows within each ripple that ends up at the shore.
No forwards; no back, just now allowing the moment to be where it is.
Visual Narrative @ Time of Creation
The contemporary artwork is a layered narrative reflecting Redcliffe Peninsula north east of the city of Brisbane, exploring the natural environment. Redcliffe Peninsula is situated in the Moreton Bay Region, South East Queensland Australia. On 10th October 2015 I went to visit and explore the shoreline continually photographing my response to nature’s language. In July 2016 post production commenced and two digital montages became Lot 16 in the PLACE identity Series, releasing new energy as the water cleansed my feet.
Found Quote @ Time of Completion
Auguste Rodin once said, “Conceive each surface of the outside of something that presses from within. Experience all forms as directed towards you. All life originates from a central core, it sprouts and begins to blossom from the inside out.”
