PLACE identity Series
LOT 12

Land Acknowledgement @ Time of Custodian

‘In the spirit of reconciliation the PLACE identity Series acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. I pay my respect to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.’

Place Statement @ Time of Conception

Is a contemporary visual approach to digitally photographing and montaging the landscape to express the psychological space within a designated place of identity. I continually aim to acknowledge and understand the land we are upon and my personal response of the stimuli that surrounds me with each step taken.

Personal Narrative @ Time of Capture

Preparation of the next stage…

Little did I feel or want to take the next step into a path unknown and yet deep within my feet, I just kept moving.

First crossing was a test and once achieved there was no turning back. The magic of mother earth and the abundance she provided in the landscape was just breath taking.

New vision started to appear and at the final destination the questions arose again. Without hesitation the birthday suit appeared and another form of rebirthing arrived.

Visual Information @ Time of Creation

The contemporary artwork is a layered narrative reflecting Booloumba Creek’s natural and manmade environment. Booloumba Creek is situated in the Conondale Range National Park, Queensland Australia, connecting to the Conondale Range great walk. On 5th July 2015 I walked part of the walk continually photographing my response to nature and manmade language. In February 2016 post production commenced and three digital montages became Lot 12 in the PLACE identity Series, realising my personal growth and was fascinated to witness my thoughts when seeing Andy Goldsworthy’s egg.

Found Quote @ Time of Completion
